Christmas Markets in Barcelona

It’s not Christmas without Christmas markets

Nothing beats Christmas like a good market and Barcelona has a few to keep you up to scratch with all the Catalan Yuletide fair. From food markets, clothing markets, artisan markets, you name the Christmas market, Barcelona’s got it.

But where to find them? And what’s the timetable? Here is a list of the most important ones.

Fira de Santa Llúcia

The Saint Lucy’s Fair is the most well-known Christmas markets in Barcelona with lots of stalls selling Christmas trees, Caga tiós decorations and mistletoes.

In the ‘Artesania’ section you will find a wide range of handmade and custom designed items!

The market opens until December 23rd and is open every day from 10:30-22:30.

Fira de Nadal a la Sagrada Família

After exploring the delights of Gaudi’s masterpiece (maybe after our Gaudì and Modernism Tour) cross over the road for the Sagrada Familia Christmas market. It offers all your standard Christmas trinkets.

There are around 120 stalls offering decorations, snacks and all your Christmas needs. But the true reason to visit is the beautiful location! The market continues until December 23rd and is open every day  10:00-22:00.

Fira de Reis a la Gran Vía

In Catalonia and the rest of Spain Three Kings’ Day is more important than Christmas day itself! And the Fira de Reis a la Gran Vía proves that easily. It’s the biggest of Christmas markets in Barcelona to buy gifts and Christmas related items. More than 300 stalls are set up to sell toys and delicious candy!

The market starts later than the rest, running from December 21st to January 6th from 11:00-22:00. Here are some info (there is only a Catalan version of the site).

Plaça de Catalunya Fira de Nadal

This Christmas fair takes place at the beautiful Plaça Catalunya and has many activities for families. Due to its central location within Barcelona, it’s a very popular place! They also have The “Fira de Consum Responsable” that promotes and sells handmade and sustainable gifts, services and activities for Christmas presents!

The market runs from December 17th – January 4th, from 10:00-21:00! Check out all their activities here.
