FREE Gaudi Walking Tour

The Free Gaudi Walking Tour takes you back to the 19th century! The story of Gaudí and Modernisme! The life and works of Catalunya’s architectural genius and his contemporaries.

A story of industrial change; a city’s expansion; revolutionary political philosophies; a new artistic movement; and the life of it’s greatest architectural giant – Antoni Gaudí.
Delve into Modernism’s themes and how they ´re shown on their buildings: the Casa Battló, Casa Milá, and other houses . How social, cultural and political forces literally shaped the physical appearances of these stunning buildings. But, also hear stories of families outdoing each other; on the make property developerstobacco planters on ego trips; a surgeon with a (possible) inferiority complex; and dragons. Lots of dragons!
Hear of Gaudí: his personality, habits, ideas, methods, and…. what he had for lunch!
Then after a short 1 metro journey, we arrive at his unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia, with an explanation of this unique, beguiling church!
So, as a professional actor I  will weave my story telling skills with my passion for history, the serious and the humourous, connecting all these strands together and hopefully connecting you as well to this phenomenal time.

Thanks and see you on the tour. Patrick

Amazing Gaudí tour in Barcelona!
The best walking tour to date! Patrick was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. The way he talks is super engaging and you wouldn’t even realize when the 2 hours would end. He would make you visualise the whole history behind the place with his wonderful imagery and voice modulations and keep you super interested. Highly recommend!

Excellent walking tour!

We joined the free Gaudi Walking Tour with Patrick and it was amazing! He explained the history behind many buildings in Barcelona, and even though we aren’t exactly fans of art, he explained the ideas behind the architecture in an incredible way that made us think, wonder and notice details and themes we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. Patrick was fascinating, funny, charismatic and we’ll spoken. By far the best guide we’ve had yet. If you get a chance to join a tour, go with Patrick, he’s well worth your while 🙂
Thanks Patrick!!

The Walking Tour is a Must!

I’m usually a bit of a critic with free tours… normally Id say I expected a bit more of history / commentaries from my guide, but this was so not the case. Patrick was an AMAZING GUIDE! Soooooo full of knowledge about history, and although he’s not an artist or an architect, he explained everything with so much passion it almost seemed like he was. Hightly reccomend this tour, otherwise you might go through Barcelona without understanding what’s just in front of your nose.

Bonus points for Patrick’s british accent and sense of humor!

Thank You Patrick!

We had a great tour with Patrick. This tour begins at 11:00 am, unlike most of the other free Gaudi tours. It lasted 2 and a half hours which flew by as was compact with in-depth reviews of many buildings. Patrick  was very engaging and  knowledgeable about the area and was able to keep all different ages in our group entertained 🙂 would 100% recommend to others

An excellent way to spend a morning!
We had an excellent tour of the Barcelona Architecture with Patrick. The tour was intimate (only 6 people) and by the end I felt I had come to personally know him. Patrick knew the history down to the last detail, and while this may seem like a daunting task to comprehend, the storytelling methods employed made me feel like I had been there to experience it myself. I highly recommend this tour if you want a great understanding of not only the architectures of Barcelona, but the personal stories behind them as well!
